DisplayLink (formerly Newnham Research) is a semiconductor and software startup company. DisplayLink USB graphics technology is designed to connect computers and displays using USB and Wireless USB, allowing multiple displays to be connected to a single PC. DisplayLink's primary customers are LCD monitor manufacturers (Samsung, LG, ASUS), notebook OEMs (Toshiba, Sony, Lenovo), and projector manufacturers (InFocus).

With massive improvements going on lately in Linux planet and making it more feasible for newbies it was certain that more and more company will add support for their products for Linux OS.. Display linux has now announced that they will bring support for almost all of their USB GPU to Linux.. This is indeed a fantastic step and will help increasing Linux acceptance.. With more and more company aiming Linux as a potential platform and delivering drivers ,it wouldn't be long when Linux become more user friendly and used at desktop...
To accelerate deployment and development of Linux drivers and other software, DisplayLink has established partnerships with both Novell and the Linux Driver Project (LDP). In addition, DisplayLink points to consulting firms Endurance Technology in the UK, and InoScope in Poland as companies equipped to provide paid development and support services for DisplayLink devices and the DisplayLink LGPL library.
Source code for the DisplayLink LGPL Library is available now, says DisplayLink, though the company did not detail when the first Linux drivers are expected to be made available.
