I have felt that its time now for TE to award special/distinguised status to some regular members. I see some members who are not mods also helping this community. I think TE should appreciate such efforts and attempt to bring forward such members and give them their due. I know reps are already in place but they dont seem to differ between members who contribute and other members who come to TE for entertainment.
If TE does bring forward such members and appreciate them i think even they will feel better and they will get their due. Also it will help newbie to take their advice more seriously that others.
Also this way TE can take a bit of load away from the mods and distribute it among such members. Though they can/cannot have mod powers but alteast they can help mods keep the content good and clean as they have been on TE for so long.
This status should be just below the mods status ( i think ). Though i would like to suggest a few names but i think TE mods and senior members should discuss and bring out atleast 5 to 6 such members out.
Also some contributing mods can be accorded this status. This status can given with a new name "Special Member" or "Gold Members" etc and it should have no relation to ones post count though whether he has helped the community consistently or not should be the only criteria. Also a 5 star sign below their names will help them differ from other members. And this membership should be given from TE side i.e. it should be via invitation.
Some members come to my mind, but i think i should refrain from writing all their names out but i am writing out 2.

They have helped a lot of newbies and and they still consistently do.
Others can carry on from here and give inputs.
P.S.: I have not been on TE for long and am not that involved with it and do not spend much time here, so i maybe wrong in taking out some names. But i felt they have been positive contributers in all sections and help all people irrespective of their status in TE or their questions. Though i wanted to take out some more names but i think that would be improper to take only some names due to my ignorance.
