While creating a 3D movie takes a bit of expertise, creating 3D photographs is a lot easier. All you need is some amount of photography skill, software to create 3D photographs using the clicked images, and some amount of skill of craftsmanship to make your own 3D glasses to view those photographs.
I used to create 3D anaglyph photos long time back using two images from any movie which had a panning scene and combining them in Photoshop. It's better & easier to make 3D's with the software now...
