DLINK GLB 502T Voltage Fluctuation Problem Solved.

I have solved the voltage fluctuation problem with Dlink GLB 502T using a switch mode power supply adapter instead of dlink supplied adapter. It cost me Rs.250/-.Earlier internet connection used to get disconnected when there is minor change in voltage.Dlink adapter cannot handle this. Using ups does not also helps. But my new made in India adapter can handle voltage change. So no more disconnection. My adapter is
"Oswal SMPS Power Adapter"
Input 100v to 240v
50-60hz
1amp
Out put- can be switched between 3V to12v

Although dlink requires 9V input,I have set adapter to 12V, as setting it to 9V is not working. You can use SMPS adapter with 9V output if you can find.I am satisfied now. Here is some screen shot of my adapter-

The solution provided by me worked for 3-4 months. After that Adapter got damaged. So you may try this at your own risk.I am not using the Dlink GLB502T any more.

If you have a good UPS like an APC this problem doesn't arise. I have the same modem and an APC UPS and fluctuations have no effect on the modem.

I don't have this problem even without a UPS :P

Perhaps it would have served you better if you had purchased the modem from a reputed dealer. Markets abound in cheap fakes and I don't trust the isp to provide good ones either.

I bought my GLB-502T from SMC, Nehru Place 2 years back. No problems till now and that too running 24x7 without UPS. never updated the f/w too.

Beware of third party adapters or running it at more than the recommended voltage as you risk damaging the components by heat and overvoltage.

:)

Lucky you found a solution. I had suffered with that modem for 6 months before stomping on it with my feet. Then I bought iball modem and everything was fine.
