IMHO, A VX450 should suffice. But if you do not have any budget constrains do consider a VX550 or a Seasonic 500W would be the best bet. But, a VX450 Should suffice.

and, btw what monitor are you using?

Using dell s2409w 1080p gaming. Cool then ill stick to my faithful vx450 . 5870 is on its way

VX 450 will suffice ATI 5850 . For ATI 5870 VX 550 is minimum

@ Mephistopheles - How can you suggest vx 450 for ATI 5870 ? Are you out of your mind ?

^^Dude, 354W total system power consumption is close the the 450W label of teh PSU

ANd if the Power COnsumption of ur rig is about 50-70% of ur PSU's rating, that's the spot on MAX Efficiency, so, since the VX550W is selling for like 5.2k, it's a better deal IMHO.

My question was will it run a 5870 or not. Thats it. And in other forums they said yes as long as I dont upgrade further.:) so buying 5870 today .

At peak, the system will draw ~400-450 [This is also a bit exaggerated by me, but anyways to be safe], and as this PSU is capable of supplying continuous 500w and 570w at peak, it should suffice. Anyways, I have said that to be a bit safe, he can go for vx550w. AMD recommends a ~600w PSU for two of these cards btw.

It should suffice IMHO.

And I think even a HD5850 could suffice all your gaming needs for 1920x1080, but the more the merrier.
