Market Feedback Do not hold the item for anyone!

I completely agree with the thread starter on this topic. There are a lot of buyers here who ask us to hold our products and then either dont turn up or reply with a negative. I think what seller's shd do in this case is, only hold your product if you know the buyer from past deals orelse never hold the item for anyone and clearly mention it in the thread that you wont hold the product for anyone.

I myself have lost potential buyers coz of this nuisance.

Cheers.

Keep on making such rules just for the market section and one day TE's rule book will be as big as India's Law book :P. Keep it simple. You pay- its yours. The first one who pays gets it!!!
wouldn't that be a simple world to live in :D

but unfortunately its not that simple...what if the guy who told you to HOLD is willing to pay the price YOU quoted for the product and another guy is willing to buy your product for 2K less (for example) than the price you quoted ?? then will you wait or will you not??(in general) what will you do ??

and yah if the guy is willing to pay the same as the guy who put it on hold then its common sense whom to chose :P

Much also depends on the genuinity and seniority of the fellow member.
Sometimes the buyer really needs time to decide and deal looks right. If you feel the buyer is really interested then waiting for such kind of buyer helps a lot.

It is a simply world. People made it complicated and messy.

Its my opinion, if a seller agrees to give it to someone on a lesser-than-quoted price, he should go ahead with the sale irrespective whether other are paying for the same price or not, but if he doesn't want to- he can tell it to the guy and get it over with. Its not as if you're a dealer so its obvious you might not share the same ethics that dealer does. Again- simple. Besides techenclave is not Ebay.

I am sure the seller can make decisions on his own on whom he wants to sell as we all have gifted brains and with good enough education. Again, we ain't dealers. We are simply selling it because either we have no use for it or we need money. (well, there are those who forge bills and those who buy from people who sell it in extra-ordinarily less price and then after couple of months sell it for a bit more, claiming that they bought it but I guess that number is still small).

 People should stop making this so darn complicated that it kills the essence of a community. Market is introduced to help people- not to convert TE as another garbage bin.

never kept anyone on hold. Thats been my reputation.

but i buy only when i feel my price is offered. but i do consider the shipping hassles and have shared shipping with many.
buying lot if stuff lately on both forums.

Maybe providing a contact number so the seller can remove his doubts about whether the buyer is genuinely interested should be made mandatory. If the seller isnt able to contact the person he immediately "frees" the item.

i agree to this thread man ... i was selling P4 system ...

there is one user on TE .. i dont want to take his name ... he told me to hold for me ... i holded for him ..

i used to call him and mgs him regularly but he used to make excuses ... i will transfer 2day and all this

he even told me that he transfered the amount (fake transfer i guess)... but i did not receive anything ...

LOL i dont understand. If you dont want to buy it then why are you playing game with a seller ?? such an f**king idiot ...

i was very angry on him .. i wasted my 4-5 days for this ... if he is reading this he should learn how to deal ??

Dude, Spoil iTrust ? You should directly contact a mod with proofs. What if this kind of stuff happens with somebody else who is unaware of him?

If u don't spoil his iTrust, u defeat the purpose of the iTrust Ratings.....

It's like freeing a criminal as punishing him would harm his reputation amongst public......!!!

NAME THE PERSON..

This site needs to be aware of such people..

Going to the extent of saying that an xfer has been made.. this can be serious problem to somebody in urgent need of money. Not to mention the trauma of having to deal with bank ppl asking the problem where none existed in the first place.

We cant let that person be this lucky at the expense of genuine people.

I assume you are not just saying this for the sake of posting.

If it did happen, you should do the needful and notify the mods- or else you're just letting them free and they will most likely do this to someone else.

his username is iknowledge

you can check in this thread http://www.techenclave.com/members-market/selling-p4-pc-176727.html

he had confirmed to pick up on 19th october

and till 26october he played a nice game with me and ditched me in d final.

Good thing is system sold, so no regrets.

i was even ready to ship it the item to his bandra house personally.

He made me to install the WinXp and install a anti-virus all gadha majduri and then backed out saying that i dont need that system .. will buy laptop.

His account is in city bank and he stays in pune with his wife. He comes on weekend to mumbai. I said to him u transfer the money as i was in really very urgency and i will deliver the machine as soon as i get the payment to his home personally ... he said OK. next day on 20 october when i asked him he said transfer is done. But i didnt get any amount in my account for next 2 days. I used to call him and msg him but he used to reply them very late.

Let it be. but he lied tats for sure. meanwhile i lost my 1 deal in waiting for his fake transferred money

i just want to say every user on TE

UNLESS AND UNTIL YOU WANT TO BUY ANY PRODUCT PLEASE DO NOT KEEP ON HOLD. SELLER MAY SUFFER

^ Our rules for itrader rating are clear :- Once a deal has been struck & money transferred, and the deal goes bad, you can hand out an iTrader rating.

Since he "transferred the money", you are free to go ahead with a -ve rating ;)

Don't worry about revenge ratings - we do not allow them.

What a lamer! :\

In any case, I'd vouch for what RedBull has posted. If I know the guy before and have dealt with him previously, I do not mind holding the stuff for him for sometime. Otherwise, I'd stick to first-to-pay-gets-it.

pretty cool enforcers :P
Iddlee is the heartthrob among all mods here. :D

^ok i was not completely clear before on the topic.

im not saying hold for each n every other member on the forum.
have a brief look at the iTrader rating of the concerned member and see his presence/contribution on the forum before you commit to hold/deal.

the same rules dont apply to each and every member. so we cant say whether one person who asks to hold has same intentions as what other member who ask to hold have.

so the bottom line remains that there can not be a rule about it, it is just a matter of personal judgement.

@abhisinalkar.
next time keep both of them interested in the deal and keep both of them aware that you have other options. this will help them decide whether they really want to buy. Sometimes we can not realise the worth unless we realise the feeling of losing it :P So remind

although,
what i dont understand is this:

does that mean that we all look for a better deal/vfm ?
doesn't the person who bought laptop instead of your system stand correct on his decision to buy new product (piece of mind and thereby vfm in his opinion) ?
Difference being he did not cancel after making payment.
In case if he had made payment, would you have refund it if he insisted on changing his mind?

the concerned member who made payment, well he has made payment and you still cancelled, what is the condition that if this lad made payment and you would get an higher offer?

PS: I have dealt with you before and it was a good deal. This discussion is just for the sake of putting through my perspective in contrary to yours. I have doubts to i have put them forward. Think about it.

hmm you are right .... let it be. whatever happend in that deal it was my mistake.
I accepted it to that buyer and gave him positive feedback even i got negative. I was looking for a higher price and he told me to list on ebay. He brought it from ebay with coupon but @ the same time i got another payment for the same product. So i had to disappoint one and i did to him since you know i have to gove ebay 6% of total amount and it will take time to get the money also(Unless buyer confirms the item receipt)
In the P4 system case iknowledge may be right from his point of view. But i found him in another higher config system selling thread asking queries. Never mind i got my lesson :)

I sold umpteen items on TE and holded for countless persons but not even a single member, who got holded the item, brought the item. Absolutely no holding means peace
