I got a call from some girl saying she was calling on behalf of Samsung.

She said they were having a sale of the Samsung Galaxy J7 pro 64GB version which sold for 19k. She said they are giving 6k discount on the phone now and total cost of phone will be 13k.

On Flipkart the phone is selling for 19.9k or similar.

Is this a scam? I told her not interested and she said ok and cut the call. She called me from some mobile number and not a call center number so I thought it would be fake.

Just now saw on Flipkart that they are having a sale of Samsung Galaxy (some other model) and 64GB version for 14.9k in coming days. Plus few days back Amazon was having a Samsung sale.

I feel like I missed a good buy. No regrets though. Can't believe telephone conversations now days.

Edit: I replayed the call recording and turns out it's Samsung Galaxy J7 prime 32GB version which cost 14k and they were giving to me @75% discount for 4k. So it's scam right?

Yeah...got this call as well and if you go through it they will ask for credit/debit card details and if someone is dumb enough to give that you are scammed.

Even I was thinking the same thing. They will take cc details and instead of 4.5k or whatever small amount they said, they will withdraw 25-50k in minutes till the cc maxes out.

I'm thinking of writing a mail to samsung regarding this and giving them the number. Let them do what they want. If they manage to catch some call center employees it will be fun.
