How many of you use ya..
for my 1100 i used the plastic cover(20 rs thing) and it used to get so dirty that i had to change it very frequently. now for this new one(w810i) contains cam too.. all said laminate it but i don want to.. for me the only consideration is the screen.. the screen cover which we get with phone flew away its way long before!!
how do you ppl maintain the screen without scratches and also take care of the phone??? :ashamed:

I have a K500i which has the same cover-not-available problem. In such cases lamination is recommended (by dealers course) as it provides a dust-proof solution and the cover stays intact. But if there is any battery problem or if u wanna change the SIM etc. then its all over!

I had also tried buying a zip cover like bluediamond but same dust problem overcame my usage and that hole ( well, had pierced the cover in center to operate the joystick :D properly) was exponentially increasing it dimensions. Had to discard it and now my cell is, well, completely unclothed. :(

Isnt there any permanent solution to this cover-problem??

well for 1100 is use the zip type plasic cover which costs 8 bucks or so. Replace it every 3 months or so as it gets dirty. For 6630 i am using a duplicate panel so no problem :)

for W800i a silicon case is better but it will make the phone look a bit thick.

Hm yes, like archish said, i dunno if its called "Silicon case", its a hard transparent cover. gives good protection to falls i believe, but no idea about the screen.
Another problem is since bluediamond has bought a w810i, it doesnt have a camera lens cover right?

I also used a silicon case with w800i, so u can have the same with w810i....

but on most of my phones I use a simple screen protectr (available at 100-150 bcks) If u r in blr u can get It in national market.

most of the cases the screen protector is enough to prevent scratches..
edit: silicon cover is the soft rubbertype cover used... It does not cover the screen.....
the transparent cover is also called "crystal cover". It covers the screen

i have seen the rubber type cover (silicon cover mayb) on w800i. i m thinking of it to buy. but the friend who used it changed to plastic case cos all his friends were removing the rubber cover to cherish the beauty of w800i :P so stil wondering rubber cover ya plastic case?

and for me i dont want to laminate cos of the above mentioned reasons alone.

as aka saying , wats screen protector? plastic type sticky paper? or somethin else? is it available in chennai?? :(

Generally a plastic film or a cling film comes along with the packaged mobile phone to protect its screen against scratches. You can get the same from the Phone dealers also.

Answer to the topic - Yes, phone cover is a must if u r bothered about the looks and dust if you are not cleaning your phone regularly....the same logic applies to comps also. Keep them dustfree to avoid any malfunctions.

Generally the Rs. 8-20 cover is ok for smaller budget ranged phones, the hard plastic covers (or whatever they are called) are recommended by ppl for big camera phones....i think they cost about Rs 40 at lamington.

i never use them .... wat the need ..... with dirt and humidity it can decrease the phone life .....

if u have a flashy phone ...... show off .... not put it in a cover :P

yeah, screen protector is something same as the thin plastic sheet that came with ur new phone.........

I am sure it will be available in chennai! I am not that familiar with the cellphone "haats" of chennai, so u have to ask guys who r frm there....

use the hard plastic cover and the screen protector..then you wont havet to worry abt anything... and screen protectors are available at most of the mobile shops easily..just ask him to give one according to ur phone... and use that..:)

i got that film cover along with phone.. but lasted only for just 2 weeks!!! and u ppl say it costs abts 100-150!! :O
if i 'd known the price before i wud have taken more care on that crap silly thinny film!! :P

While I was in Chennai I saw these hard plastic completely transparent covers, which I got for my 6630 and N70 (N70 cover bought in Jabalpur). That means these covers are available everywhere, i paid 100 bucks for the 6630 and 125 bucks for the N70, that was a good investment because it really protects the cell, and doesn't stain at all...
Only thing is the retention clips at the sides tend to break if handled improperly.

The cover is a 2 piece affair, that snaps together protecting the phone, yet the keypad is exposed... My N70 has survived a drop in these new clothes :P , the 6630 survived 2...

nah it costs about 30 bucks or so.

currently i`m using this 2 peice cover.. which i think is what vandal is talking abt too.. it really gives the phone good protection.. i wanted to protect it from getting scratched(since its in my pocket with my keys and some coins in there :bleh:) . so a hard cover does the job.. plus its very dustly here at my place so it does a good job of keeping the dust off the phone.. atlest of the screen..

cons are- it looks a bit too delicate.. i think the day i remove it , it would break! lol.. and i would have to buy a new cover...

i can already see a hell lot of scratches on the cover itself. so well i`m glad i bought it..

i think you can do the same for your phone bluedimond.. best would to get that thin film and then put on the cover for even more protection . :)

well i use the regular zip type covers for my 6030. well thats ok for me since i can always get a new one the current one gets dirty, since its cheap but the silicon covers are a bit costly i suppose.

ya.. i got it for 100 yesterday, but i forgot to buy the thin film! sho..... :(
all are popping their eye out here, whn they say its for 100 n all.. they were poppin eyes out when i said 22k itself, so m now just used to it... :P
