Do we get Modded PS3 ??? If not why??

Do we get modded PS3?
If not then why is it still not available ??

Either way the unmodded PS3 itself is a brilliant piece of machinery;

^^....ok let me get technical...

the copyright protection check is a mix of h/w and s/w in ps3...

the h/w is till now a no no..and the s/w protection is for a blu-ray...so the

tech is new....and there are no API's yet written for that..

its been a year..so lets hope by before dec we can see something...

and another one the most practical one....

the cost of propucts..the ps3..blue ray writer..blu ray disc...and the size...

all translates to lots of botttlenecks....

although there are games that are <8 GB, still they opt BD instead of DL-DVD, dunno why

the blue ray player and disc have hardware copy protection built into it .so i guess it makes it that much more harder to modd. lolz pics of "moded PS3" attached with this post .

^^ I think the PS3 was cracked much faster then an X360.. ppl are actually running cell based linux distros.. search on net...

It is soft moddable but yeah availibity of apps is an issue

The fact that you can run linux on a ps3 was intended by Sony. But it doesn't allow you to play unauthorized games.

There are two reasons why modding is not going to work in the ps3:

1) The technical reasons as described above.

2) Games are becoming more and more online based. Added to that you often have to update the games as well as the ps3 online. With this factor, modding is made much more difficult, as with every update someone has to figure out a way to crack the update etc. Too cumbersome.

With the high prices of the xbox 360 and PS3 modding them is not worth the risk.
