Android Do we really need phones with more than 4GB RAM?

and this sums it up...

exactly, they aren't gods :P

Don't get the point of 6GB RAM, apps can run as fast and smooth on a 1GB RAM phone if optimised properly. Some poorly optimised apps used to have Out of Memory crashes on a 3GB phone and the whole app is 300MB.

1gb ram is woefully inadequate. Even iphones with 1gb keep on refreshing webpages to the point it spoils the user experience.

I have OPO with 3GB and webpages and apps like reddit don't refresh even when minimised for long time. Thats when 3GB ram is useful.

As webpages and apps become more and more complex, 6 GB ram will be needed in near future

^ Web pages are getting heavier day by day and also apps. By Next year Even iPhone will casually have 3Gb RAM. Then Android will have 6GB.

2 >1 :p

Just one line....Instead of increasing something, why not Optimize everything???

You can do much more within 2gb rams as well provided you have optimized and codded your app the proper way instead of hogging and wasting resources.

Dunno how stupid the OP3 founder is. No decision making skills. First adds 6gb ram, then makes software not use it to save battery. Adds a thinner battery and made camera scratch prone when he could have solved both issues easily. Now they launched a update with lesser aggressive memory management after people observed issues. Battery would now decrease even further. The Op3 was a decent phone if it had a 3500mh battery. They screwed it up.

with pokemon go its clear VR is the next big thing. Now phones are needed 24x7 and we need bigger batteries. with gps, data and cam pokemon go eats up the batteries. Need 5000 mah to make people fully use their phones and stuff like the old days of nokia 33 series. playing snake and space impact all day and hardly a drop in battery.
