OC & Modding Do you prefer to Overclock you GPU to get better performance while gaming ?

Yes, I do OC. But only if I am getting less than 60FPS in the game I am playing, so it is based on game to game basis, and not OC'ed all the time.
 
Yup I do that. The only time when my main system is powered is when I game, so the default application profile has its core/memory clocks upped by default.

May I ask what is the intention of the poll?
 
chirag.. what settings do you have on these profiles? for example, for battlefield 3 and skyrim.. I too am using a sapphire 6850 stock.. can you run BF3 at around 60fps after OCing on high or ultra? Am currently playing on medium at 1920x1080 res and am getting close to 60 fps.. My processor is i5 2500k oc'ed to 4.2ghz and 8 gig ram at 1600mhz..
 
Well, actually I am cheating here since I have an IGP. Just overclocked it some time but then went back to stock as I noticed some issues with aero (which actually later on found out were due to FF over RDP). Since then have not bothered.

BTW had overclocked my old TNT2 and 8800GT.

Yes bro I get 60fps at ultra without MSAA and 50 with MSAA at 1600x900, yours is full hd so settings need to be tonned down.

But you can play on high with 60fps using the following settings...

My settings in Sapphire Trixx (For BF3) Skyrim runs on ultra on my reso at stock speeds with 50 to 55FPS:

Core speed: 975mhz

Memory speed : 1125mhz

Voltage: 1.2v

Fan control : Auto (goes upto 78% on full load, keeping temps below 80C)

My system : Athlon x3 440 unlocked to quad @3.6ghz, 2x2gb Gskill ripjawsX 1600mhz etc, Sapphire 6850 @ 975mhz(standard model)
 
My OC is stable with heaven at 1.2v with core clock 951mhz, memory clock 1130mhz and max temperatures while gaming 76 degrees. getting an average of 47fps with min 39fps and max 55fps in BF3 high settings. Is that okay? fyi I am using a Sapphire 6850.
 
What are your settings in BF3?? Temperature is not a problem. But remember to create a profile in TRIXX for OC settings. Do not keep the card at 1.2V often. Just while playing games you should do so. What is the speed of your RAM?? IMO I should be above 1700MHz and below 1800MHz
 
I'm using G skill ripjaws X 8GB at 1600mhz in dual channel. I've made a profile. Only OC'ing when gaming otherwise using default settings profile.
 
You didnt mention your settings in BF3.... Otherwise the frame rates are pretty decent on Full HD, you can play with some settings on Ultra with the almost same FPS...Try it
