Taken some pics of my Z68 Deluxe CPU socket (bought from prime) before I started installing. Thought it might be a good idea with all the bent pin fiasco these sockets became infamous for. Do you guys see anything wrong? Looks alright to me compared to my older P67.

Update

Damn, Board isn't working. Giving me Q code 58 with no Post. Also the indicator near mem ok button is red. Tried Mem ok and putting a single stick of RAM in all 4 slots, but no POST. I guess the RAM slots are DOA.

CMOS cleared? keep battery aside for 20 mins at least.

EPU and TPU switches OFF/ON?

What if the surge zapped your memory sticks too? Got extra or can borrow from someone?

Check the back of the proccy- see any contacts that are not shiny golden but darker/brownish?

^^ No visible damage on the CPU. I have posted pics of CPU and Mobo in below thread

Damage in the end: Mobo + CPU + SSD = 35k

I guess both CPU can SSD can be RMA'ed. Hope that I don't land in RMA hell with Intel and Corsair.

Guy's does anyone know the solution to the second PCIe slot struck in x1 mode. The second GPU gets detected, but unable to crossfire. First one is in x8 mode.

@Lord Nemesis:

Probably the docks are dirty. Remove the accelerators and blow hard into the slots. And gently wipe the golden connector strip on the cards. That should fix it. Re-do the drivers too.

^^The issue seems to be that I installed the second GPU after I installed the Sound card. I resolved the it by removing the Second GPU and X-Fi Titanium sould card so that the first PCIe slot reverts back to x16 mode, then installed the second GPU which got both slots working at x8 and then installed the X-Fi.

All's well now?

If you are continuing with that ISP, get a LAN spike suppressor. I think APC UPS have them and you get special/discrete ones from APC too.

All the best.
