I'm using a Acer 5755 laptop with i5 2.3 Ghz and 6GB Ram and the standard 500 GB HDD with 5200 RPM. My work is such that I've normally 20-40 tabs opened. Sometimes my PC gets unbelievably slow and literally comes to a crawl. Simple tasks such as opening a notepad would take up 30 seconds. I recently installed Windows 8 64 Bit and I checked that my Disk and Ram utilization was almost full. (Screenshot attached)
So, my question is :
a) What can I do to improve the performance ? One way is increasing the ram to 8 GB.
b) Can I install an SSD in my laptop ? (I recently inquired in one of the service centers and they said that the laptop didn't have an SSD interface. But I've seen on some forums people installing SSDs on similar category Acer laptops) Will the SSD improve its performance ?
