I guess Desertcart and mx2games sell a few models, but I am not sure how they handle customs and delivery. If anyone bought a Boox product here in India, please share your experiences. If you guys used mx2games, let me know how the whole thing went.

Not a big fan of e-ink displays
I've used e-ink in the past, the ghosting, screen refresh and lag is horrible. You can read basic novels at most.

Any scrolling, pinch-in zoom, zoom out is straight up irritating, especially pdfs with tiny fonts, sections, diagrams.

Even the promised battery life is overhyped and not that great.

I have a Bigme reader from overseas but would generally not consider worthwhile to pay a premium to import these devices.

For reading, the latest Kindle Paperwhite or Kobo Libra Color from Amazon are good enough.

It is not that much fun using it as a tablet, the only benefit is of course easy sideloading and access to all Android apps, though their UI is generally lacking.

That's what I was thinking. An old iPad, coupled with a matte screen protector, is much better in terms of usability. I suppose I'll just let my e-ink romanticization take a break for now.

One thing I never hear mentioned in favor of e-ink readers is how they behave in sunlight.

Traditional screens even at full brightness look somewhat darkened outside (and somewhat hot to hold due to full brightness). On the other hand, e-ink displays looks alright outside, like a newspaper would.

This means I would be spending much more time in sunlight/outside which is better for both my eyes and body.
