Do Dell laptops bought from US have warranty here in India?

Does Dell offer international warranty?

A friend wants to buy and the warranty is important.

Also, if he buys Dell Vostro Laptop with "free dos" and installs XP(the infamous one) later on will it be a hinderance in any warranty claims?
