CPU/Mobo Does i7 3770 "Non K" make any sense instead of a 3570K/3770K for a Z77 based mobo??

I am in a pickle i had pre ordered a 3770K from the local computer shop which is linked with RPtech. Now the preorder was done on the 6th of June and i was assured delivery in a week which did not happen. I told the shop guy to get me a 3570K if 3770K is not available and still no product showed up mean while i had given a sun of Rs.23000 for the pre order.

Yesterday he called me up and said that there are very limited 3770K's available and most are sold out or ordered at source so no 3770K is left. As for the 3570K its not available at all anywhere according to him, the only possible chip he can get is a i7 3770 non K one.

So i am thinking if its wise to buy a i7 3770 when i have bought a Z77 based mobo or not? Its not like i want to OC till the limit but even small OC with multi's is better than fiddling with the BCLK what do you all think?

Also the 3770 is about 2-3K cheaper than the 3770K...

If you have already bought a Z77 mobo then it'll make no sense at all to get a non-K processor.

I assume budget is not a constrain as you have paid upfront, so I'll suggest you to go for a K variant as it'll be beneficial in the long run & 2-3K will be worth spending as you are building a high performance system.

Hope this helps. :)

Be patient and go for the K version. Even otherwise it is not entirely an unwise decision to settle for a non-K version...... (like a 3770 on a Z77 is not entirely wasted).

Whereas the Z77 boards are currently the best in terms of features & performance.

Intel Core i5-3570K vs Intel Core i7-3770

There are discernable (and livable) differences between i5 & i7 procs (depending upon what apps you use) & unfortunately, their lack of easy-availability is only making things very frustrating for all.

Cheers

I had a chat with RPTech guys they say i will have to wait almost a month or even two :O Hell i cant wait for that long i will see if system builder has any K's left. I can also go with primeabgb but they took a long time to ship my friends Asus GTX 680 so i will be in the same boat as i am rite now.

I was too weak ordered a 3770 non-K it will arrive today and will play around with the 7770 CF setup and get some numbers later...
