I have Asus K8v mobo ( not deluxe , just the basic )

http://usa.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=K8V&langs=09#

Im not sure if it supports dual channel memory . i tried looking on forums and most of the discussions was regarding the deluxe version of the mobo .

Also currently my ram is in the yellow slot next to the blue slot ...
if i get a new ram chip , should both ram chips be in 1,2 or 1,3 or 2,3 slots
(blue = 1 yellow = 2,3 ) :S

@puns

firstly this mobo has just 3 ram slots and i havent seen a mobo with 3 slots
having dual channel support.A dual channel mobo has 4 ram slots thats
the primary indication according to my exprience.

also went through the asus specs it doesnt mention anywhere that it has
support for dual channel

I think it doesnt have support for dual channel.

I always thought that 3ram slots = no dual channel
Thanks for correcting my view.

But the board under consideration[Asus K8v] doesnt support dual channel.

Well, PC =Personal Computer, and i dont want the rest of my family members to mess with my personal space, every time my sis sits, she'll just change some settings here and there which is really annoying to say the least :P
