Does windows 7 downloaded from MSDN keep working

I have got a windows 7 download from a friend who owns a subscription. Does anyone have an idea whether it will keep working incase he does not renew the subscription?

They have put a restriction on the number of keys a person can get.

If its a genuine key got from MSDN, it will keep on working irrespective of the subscription attached to it.

Make sure that the same key is not being used to two different persons though... In that case, it will be banned.
