Laptops Doing a Clean Install (Win 7 Premium) on an HP-DV6?

My friend recently got this HP laptop and was really bugged with the bloat that came with it. I suggested a lengthy uninstall process using Revo to completely remove the unwanted programs and their registry traces, since HP doesn't provide a OS-only reinstall disc like Dell.
But he insisted on starting from scratch, so i googled the work-around for this problem and found that using a retail disc of 7 i can clean install the OS (even wipe the whole disk and create new partition?) and then use the product key on the sticker to activate it (that's all i understood till now).
I have a 7Pro ISO i got from MSDN (i'm a subscriber, he's not), so how do i clean install the 7Premium on the laptop with it?
Please explain as i am really confused about this whole Upgrade/Clean/Custom install options. :S

since i already had a 7pro iso, i opened it in 7-zip and deleted the /source/ei.cfg file. Booted from it and restored the activation...works like a charm!
Thanks a lot! :D
