PC Peripherals Double-Clicking Logitech Mouse, Best Options?

Hello everyone, So I have a G304 & as Logitech mouses are infamous for their double click issues, I am finally facing it myself (unfortunately, my mouse wasn't different & special as I thought). Anyhow, I bought it in Oct 2021, and it start developing the issue a few months ago, so obviously out of warranty, It has gotten quite bad now to the point I can't do work properly.
I've tried the following:
1. blow in between the mouse to remove static electricity build up
2. put a q-tip overnight in between to 'lift' the upper switch (it made it worse, it doesn't detect clicks now lol)
But it didn't do anything, the only viable solution is to change the switch itself which I can't do (get the switch, iron soldering, damage risk etc)

Thinking of either going with the same mouse again or trying out the Razer Orochi V2 even though that's 1000/- over budget and I don't like the ergo of the Deathadder V2, Thoughts? Also, can anybody here 'repair' it?

Seems like you deformed the plastic...
I'd hazard a guess that the mouse click isn't contacting the tiny plunger. The best option without desoldering was to disassemble and push down the micro switch plunger and put in tiny drop of wd40 inside.

For new mouse, ones with optical switches are the way to go. Any mechanical leaf ones would double click. You can also hotswap optical switches, which isn't usually advertised as you'd have to disassemble the mouse.

Ps:I have seen people from imkc (discord) fix these. I can share a contact if you want via pm.

Do share the contact, can have a talk to salvage this within a reasonable price for me
Exactly.

List of mouse with optical switches:

I'm using MM720 although I don't know if it is still available in India.
Wireless is a must for me so those mouses are way over budget for me atm. thanks for the list though, will be helpful in the future

Well, I had a g102 do the same and I swapped the switches at home cause I already had a soldering iron and the experience using it,
You can get switches from Here for as low as 30 rupees (pretty cheap to try) . Look at some youtube videos to get an idea of what to do and if you can do it. If not then getting a new mouse is probably your only option.
+ no harm in trying if you're already gonna spend the money on a new mouse right?

Have you tried this? Its not a permenant fix, although I was able to resolve the double clicking on my G602
will try this now

yep will try the above method and if that doesnt work i can try this cause no harm in trying

Also, if you get decent mechanical switches (not that expensive, 200-300?), that mouse will easily last you for decades, Logitech unreasonably cheaps out on their switches and any decent mechanical switch (kailhs) can easily outlast the mouse itself.

Yeah but consider this. Either you get a mouse that develops issues again and you spend time and money getting it exchanged or buy new one if it starts giving issues just after warranty period.

Or you can buy an expensive but reliable mouse now to avoid such issues in future.

yup exactly, logitech uses cheap omrons made in chine (not even the omrons made in japan), that's why most of their mice tend to have the double clicking issues

yeah looks like that's what i'm gonna try doing
Just check once which switches are used for side switches in your mouse, I'd suggest replacing them as well. In my case, after I replaced left and right button switches, 2 weeks later, side buttons started double clicking, now just too lazy to open it up again.

yup will be replacing all as one of the side switch also double clicks
Like everyone else is saying, Buy another G304 or replace the switches. I did the same. Didn't like Razer mice personally.
yes, i don't really like the razer deathadder v2's ergo, and orochi is over budget, would be better to put more money in & buy a mouse with optical switch but before going there, no harm in trying to replace the switches

The issue with mice that has optical switches: something else like the scroll wheel would fail XD
