Hi ,
Me and my dad share a D7000. I love it ! We moved up from a D5100 about a year and a half ago and its a joy to use. But, i'm leaving home in a month and the 7000 stays at home. So , new camera ! But i dont really want to move back to a D5/1/2 00 (but that seems like the most logical choice)
Im open to almost anything ! Over the past few weeks i've been through tons of reviews and im now utterly confused. i dig the fuji x series but thats prbbly because of the way they look .
I primarily want to shoot with a prime. Don't really need another lens .
I have a budget of around 40k .
Thank You!
:)

Since you already have a Nikon at home you best bet will be to go with Nikon so that you can share the lens and other gear. If thats not what you are considering then check out Canon 600D/ D5300 (again its a downgrade to 7000 but a worthy cam to use.)
I got the Canon 700D recently and am very happy with that. Since you will be mostly shooting with primes consider body only of 700D which should cost you about 45k or 35k from US. The advantage of 700D is that its hybrid cmos sensor is very quick on auto focussing which is really helpful with primes.

A 700D would be waaay beyond my budget :|. Thank You for the suggestion though!

I'll take a look at the jjmehta forums and olx for second hand bodies ! Any specific things to keep in mind to keep in mind while looking for old bodies ?

I have a Nikon d5200 and its quite good considering I am a very casual shooter.

D3300 is also a very VFM and you can share your Nikon gear.
