I have used flashget for years, except now moved to freedownload mananger, it offers similar features and is free and no spyware, adware etc.

I use Internet Download Manager....integrates well with firefox and all supports megaupload and rapidshare files...

NetTransport is quite a nice and fast download manager for windows, it has a site explorer and some other works, but lacks multi threaded downloading (atleast the version I use), its latest version aint free, but you can get the last freeware version from

Download Express for me.....gives awesome speed and unlimited number of simultanious threads.....I have personally tried upto 700 threads.

I've used Fresh Download for years - works well, simple user interface and ad - spyware free !

Can someone please tell me why one download manager would be faster / slower than another ? Wouldn't your internet connection be the deciding factor ?

use the TE Dload Manager aka FDM...i was using it till i came across flashget..using flashget over TE Dload manager ONLY because dloads from apidshare n megaupload is possible in flashget

use FDM: free download manager (www.freedownloadmanager.org) .. as the name suggests.. its free but highy effective (better than most of the download managers).

IDM: internet download manager is good too ...

flashget rocks .. no idea why u dont like it
