Hi All

I was planning for NAS, but reading the TE reviews droped the idea.

And finally planned to make a windows home server.

After all the threads on TE decided to go for ATOM, config goes as below:

1)Atom 330 + D945GCLF2
2)2GB 667 RAM
3)iBall nettop 009
4)80 GB HDD (already have it)
5)Sony DVD(rw) (already have it)

Have bought the stuff and will be posting it soon.....
 
@ Dex@ter: definitely i will post the experience, till now its good, will give a detailed review later.

@ zhopudey: bro rite now will be using 80 GB just per-say, later will be putting 2 X 1TB

@low_bass_makker, H_D: Prices are:

1)Atom 330 + D945GCLF2 : 4500

2)2GB 800 RAM : 1600

3)iBall nettop 009 :1300

well i think that the max ram supported by D945GCLF2 is 2 gb and the max freq of ram is 533/667 correct me if am wrong..
so is your 800mhz ram working wid the setup??
 
Great! NAS with atom + RAID is the way to go... I had great success with Ubuntu server edition and RAID 1. BTW, I thought nettop 009 has only one 3.5" drive bay. Or can it accommodate more? This was the reason why I went with zebronics Nick...

Well the nettop is made to accommodate only 1 X 3.5 hdd, but will be installing 2 X 3.5 hdd with 5.25 to 3.5 converter :p

Or if i go mad 1 X 3.5 and 4 X laptop hdds, making a total of 3tb... but it will be very costly :mad:

Yes it does support 533/667 but it also works with 800 (did this due to unavailability of 533/667)
