Guide Downloading through firewalls

This little tut i wrote last year is for all poor people who are stuck behind firewall's managed by either by moronic bureaucrats or leet admins

1st of all download the tunnel software
Bypass Firewalls - Preserve your online Anonymity, Privacy & Security - HTTP Tunnel Corp (about 1 mb)
next download the client downloader...for torrents i recommend bitspirit and for DC++ i recommend RMDC

install them

Tunnel settings:
run tunnel
1st try to keep proxy settings as 'auto detect' and see if the socks proxy starts
if not select 'no proxy, only firewall' and see if the server starts
if not select 'proxy' and enter the ip:port you have to enter in your browser to browse anything (this will definatly work)
the status window will show 'IP successfully retrieved / socks 4/5 proxy started'

RMDC settings
RMDC settings->general
tick the SOCKS5 box
enter 127.0.0.1 as IP and 1080 as port
keep username/pwd enpty
leave resolve hostname by proxy ticked
leave autoupdate ip unticked

for hub addresses goto www.hublist.org or check the P2P forum here for local hubs

Bitspirit settings
goto the preferences
goto proxy&NAT traversal
add
name:tunnel
server:127.0.0.1
port:1080
timeout:20
let proxy resolve hostname:yes
use proxy for tracker only:no
proxy type:socks5
username/pwd:blank
now when you add a new torrent to your list to download, goto proxys and extensions...tick 'use proxy' and select 'tunnel' from the drop down menu

if you followed everything perfectly, DC and bitspirit sould be downloading through tunnel now

dont expect good overall speeds unless you have a paid tunnel account

What'll be the settings for utorrent ?

Goto Options>Pref>Connection

Type:- Socks5
Proxy:- 127.0.0.1
Port:- 1080
Authentication:- Unchecked.
Use Proxy Server for P2P Conn :- Try Unckecked first then if its not connecting check it.

Hope this does it.

i havent used utorrent
the proxy and port setting will be as said above...there should be somethign like 'resolve name by proxy' also
better stick to the tried and tested solutions :D

heh..quad posted few secs before me :p

Its not necessary to stick to Bitspirit , I have tried with Bitcomet and it worked.

It will also work with uTorrent without any issues.

The most important part is the HTTP Tunnel settings. :hap2:

Using Bitspirit. All I see is remote server rejected connection in the log window. But when I browse it connects fine and the log window populates with the server details of the site.
