One click Hosting services like Rapidshare, Megaupload, Hotfile, Sendspace Impose various restrictions on free (Non Premium) account users, to try and force them to purchase premium accounts.
Some of the crippling features of free accounts are:-
a) No parallel downloads.
b) Speed restrictions.
c) IP specific download request restrictions.
d) No resume support.
e) No download scheduling.
f) Inability to transload content.
g) No Download Manager Support.

Here is a guide to circumvent all the above limitations(up-to a level) and best of all its all Dead Simple and FREE!! :)

I have personally come across three websites offering this service and am posting detailed info about one of them, other websites offering similar services are listed at the end.

How this works
Content from One Click Download sites is downloaded remotely on Servers using high bandwidth lines(using their premium account). From thereon these files are available for user manipulation.

Lets get Started

Visit Rapidleech

1. Paste your download link in the space provided. and click Transload.

2. In the pop-up window, click on any of the advertisements, wait for 10 seconds and minimise the ad window.

3. Now go to the main window and click "Ready to download". On the next screen you will be shown the progress of the transload.

4. After the transload finishes click on "Go To Main". Click on the "Server Files" tab and browse the list to find your file. Click on the file name itself to download the file, or on the action Drop-down to accomplish other tasks.

5. Use the drop-down to upload the file to your account on a service which supports download accelerators (Say Mediafire).

Advantages
Download accelerator support.
Maximum speed parallel downloading available.
No IP specific Limits.
Resume support.
Scheduling Possible(by using Download managers)

Disadvantages
Files are deleted after 1 hour.( Other sites delete content after Varying duration, this site deletes files after 2 days :O )

Other websites providing similar service

http://www.tpsbb.com/RL/index.php (Down at 2210h on 27 apr10)

Comments are welcome :)

this works but sometimes the speed sucks even in download managers. Will my luck on this site and let you know.

In the 2nd screenshot, should I click only after it shows Ready to Download, or is it that I should click first and wait for it to become "Ready to Download"?

thanks for this post and good info here,

i have a question if someone can answer please.

my dsl used to download at about 100 kb/sec, then it went down to 80, the 50 now max 30 kb/sec at best.

this is mainly due to hosting sites like hotfile, rapidshare etc.. does anyone know how to fix this, or what they do to computers? ive changed the system, and now have a new hard drive, but the same situation.. really need help on this. it takes more than 5 hours to download a 500mb file thats not from a hosting site.

please HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!

thanks

This is quiet common with such websites especially when you are a free user. I was downloading a 250 MB file from MU yesterday night and speeds were pathetic to say the least, only 20-50 kBps and not going more. So i stopped the download and tried today morning and speeds were like 250-300 kBps.

You can try deleting cookies related to the offending website and then see if you get better speeds but usually they check the IP so you can always disconnect and reconnect again and get a new IP address.

On the contrary when i tried megaupload yesterday i got multiple connections on IDM as a free user. Do not know what happened there.

^^Best thing is search for corresponding mediafire links. They just rip (and rape) our connection and utilize the bandwidth to the fullest, combine with IDM and you are always sure to get speeds in and around your plan / capped speeds.

i did not get you :S

^^I meant that say you want file X to be downloaded then you can search for mediafire link from other places and download from there. Nothing else.

I meant something else.
There is a concept of happy hour from megaupload where each and every free user gets premium privileges.
I may have bumped into that yesterday.

I exactly do the same thing. always try to find mediafire link first. :)

the entire system was changed and the hard drive, but the same problem occurs...

the question here is what have these sites done to the pc, and how can this be fixed so that speeds are back to normal?
even the other sites that are mentioned here still download at 30kb/sec...how is this fixable to get back to 100 kb/sec?

is there a setting in the pc that needs to be adjusted, or did they mess around with the modem? i am at a loss

thanks
