It apparently features AI companions which can be recruited from and sent off to journey with other players, returning with valuable experience of battles ahead.

Prior to the reveal of Resident Evil 6, Dragon’s Dogma was known as the largest production the company had ever undertaken. It’s expected on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the first half of the year – late March in the US, May everywhere else.

Another RPG for the year after KOA:R. This is going to suck my life real bad if the reviews turn out to be good!

Just checked and found out that it's 27th March for NA release. Jan 31st would probably be the Japanese release.

Dragon's Dogma Includes Resident Evil 6 Demo

Scheduled for a May 22[sup]nd[/sup] launch of this year, Dragon’s Dogma is looking to provide a small sample of Resident Evil 6 within it and give us a taste of Capcom's most anticipated title.

Come March, Xbox 360 users will be able get their hands on the demo (via code) first before PlayStation 3 users on September 4th. Official statements from Capcom state:

Purchasers of the Xbox 360 version of Dragon's Dogma will be able to redeem this token and download the Resident Evil 6 demo globally on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 60 days earlier than any other platform starting on July 3.

Dragon’s Dogma’s First DLC Includes 100 Side Quests

Dragon’s Dogma is yet another RPG coming out this season. With Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning out the gates, this game finally has some time in the spotlight and boy does it look good. Dragon’s Dogma puts the player in the shoes of the “Arisen†a person with great power whose goal is to track down the dragon that stole his/her heart and get it back.

Today, Capcom released a new trailer for Dragon’s Dogma that highlights some of its spectacular gameplay. If you have a twitter, you might want to retweet the trailer for a chance to win the first DLC for FREE. This $7 DLC contains 100 side quests that offer a wealth of loot for players to get their hands upon. Including these side quests as DLC is incredibly shady on Capcom’s part, but I suppose there’s nothing we can do about it, that is until somebody cracks the disc and unveils the rest of the locked content.

Dragon's Dogma Could Come to PC As Well

"I think a lot of Capcom fans out there want us to make a new IP. They want to see something new from us, not only the same series or franchises, as well. I think if they want to see something new and they've enjoyed our games in the past, then they're going to want to play Dragon's Dogma," said Kobayashi. "Because Capcom's known for its action games and is good at making action games, I think we can guarantee the quality of the action in this game. If you know us and you know we do good action, then we can guarantee there will be good action in this game, and hopefully that will be enough to make those people want to check it out and play Dragon's Dogma."

And while the game is currently only scheduled for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in early 2012, that doesn't mean that a PC version has been ruled out. Asked if such a version could also see release, the Japanese producers immediately laughed and became animated upon hearing the word "PC," with translator Miguel Corti revealing that they had anticipated the question coming up during the event.

"Right now, nothing's off the table yet," admits Kobayashi. "But if the PC users out there really are vocal about having this game, then we can definitely consider it."

Demo's out! YAY!

Downloading it right now. Will probably try it tomorrow morning, as I'm purely playing Witcher 2 tonight.

I'm bound with mixed feelings Gannu. It wasn't overtly impressive or may be the technical issues really clouded my judgment. The combat varies depending on your character's classes. You'll have additional help from your pawns, which at times, can become quite chaotic. The demo gave you the option to build your character, play the prologue chapter and the countryside quest. Both the levels were dead small and just had a few enemies, which my pawns feasted upon, while the boss battles required combined effort. The default character provided to the prologue chapter was the warrior class, I believe and the Archer for the countryside quest. I enjoyed playing as the latter, as his moves were quite swift. 2 boss fights were available; Chimera & Griffin. I didn't have a lot of time to go through the entire inventory section, but I think it's a watered down version of Skyrim. All I required was the healing herbs for both these quests. Controls felt really awkward in the Prologue chapter, as the warrior's moves are really poor.

As I mentioned earlier, the technical issues were really annoying. First off, you'll immediately notice the poor frame rates. Next up, screen tearing. Then we have dull textures (Prologue chapter) and black bars covering the top and bottom area. WTF?

This cold have easily been countered, had the game been on the PC. I can't say with certainty that it's a stellar hit, but if Capcom manages to iron out these issues, I'm sure it's worth a shot.

Hmmm. I think I'll have to be choosy about playing RPG titles henceforth since they consume a LOT of time. Let us see how the final game shapes up and how the reviews fare in general. If the scores are averaging anything above 85%, I think it might just be worth the shot.

I severely regret having played LOTR: War in the North that way. It was such a waste of time.

Dam right they consume a lot of time. Besides, the next few months will have an outburst of RPGs. So it's best to weed out the ones which are really worthwhile.
