DSL Speeds?

Well, I'm not too knowledged in internet connection speeds, so I was wondering if anyone here know the average DSL connection speeds?

Running my ISP's speed test gave me this:

Your Throughput

Download = 979.74 kbps
Upload = 247.58 kbps

Considering Indian Standards.....thats quite a result.
But, you are not in India...so, i really cant comment...i wish i would get results like that.;)
 
HE he params ... average in india mus be arnd 6kB/s. Don't forget BB is available only in Metros ( I won't call those atrociously capped DataOne plans as BB :p ) ...
 
True..... 27kBps or around 256kbps is only for us lucky souls who have BB.

Average in the rest if the country will be around 6kBps or 48kbps
 
From your throughput, It seems you've got 1 Mbps DSL connection. The average speed of DSL connections depends upon the plan, u'r ISP is giving u.It can be as high as 8Mbps(not sure, though)

Aren't T1 and DSL connections different ?
 
The most high speed connection which i have used here is 1Mbps
and that too had a limit of 200MB which got over very fast just wanted to try out
so got a limited MB package.

Now mostly use a 40kbps unlimited or a 150kbps night plan.
BB in India is still like we get in US.

My frnds in US use a 11Mbps connection , i am so jealous of them.

Donno when will we have a proper 256kbps unlimited connection at an affordable cost here.
 
Airtel BB is not available in mumbai , its only available in some south states.
Read about the airtel bb when was in chennai for a visit last year.
 
a small hack :p it was identified by hathway actually, they accused using a proxy lol :p they came n checked, went back..hehehe
