CPU/Mobo Dual Channel Memory woes

GUys i recently changed my MOBO to a DG31PR if you had seen my other two threads youd know

anyhow the problem now is i have 2 corsair 2GB XMS2 RAM one is a Ver1.3 and the other is a Ver1.4 and the diffrence ends there

Apart from that the two RAMS are just the same the thing is iam not able to boot up the system with those rams installed i also have another 2gb transcend ram which now i have paired with my corsair xms2 now and it seems to be stable can anyone here tell me why my comp is refusing to boot with the 2 Ditto Corsair XMS2 rams installed ?

also the comp was working fine yesterda with the two corsairs installed but today all of a sudden i got a BSOD while watching a YT video and after that it just refuses to boot with the 2 corsairs installed

apart from prime 95 and memtest is there anyother tools to test the memory?

First check your corsair Ram(s) for errors. There are other RAM testing application, but memtest is usually preferred.

If the RAMs were working before and are giving problem now, then there are chance that, they might have developed some fault

Here are some other memory testing apps

- Windows Memory Diagnostic

- M2K MemScope

- Memtest86+

- DocMemory Memory Diagnostic

any how they both work fine individuall but not together

as you ill test them out individuall with the ram programs listed above.
 
[font="arial, sans-serif"]DG31PR does not give any option to customize any memory setting. Its all Auto; so there is nothing you could do here @ Mobo/BIOS. You can try permutation/combination by trying them in some other Mobo together and see if it fails there as well on stock settings.[/font]

ya mate, check the rams, there is high probability that one of then have got some issue.

Do post the result

and i got 3 beeps which indicates that there is no ram detected

i tried booting with the RAMS individuall installed and it seemed to be working fine but i have to do an idepth analysis on that

btw can anyone tell me would i really need to burn a DVD for the Memtest86 test?
 
Memtest [DOS] can be put on a USB stick and made bootable. The web site explains it quite well. Check each stick with it.
 
Download the memtset86 image and get YUMI, now just create a bootable pendrive out of the image using YUMI

Yes mate you can use your memory card + card reader as well.

About the problem, it simply points that the RAM sticks have some issue.

any how rite now iam on the transcend corsair combo will go home and test out individual corsair rams if there is a problem with them i can get it exchanged rite?

also can anyone tell me the address of corsair service center in chennai?

can i avail warranty for it without the invoice?

Do the DDR2 RAms still have life time warranty?

DDR2 Rams are still bieng produced rite?

- Run a complete test, once the test is complete, you will get a message that no error is found after completing 100% (check pic)

- ya mate, accel provided transcend RMA based on its serial no. But transcend RAM usually comes with lifetime warranty

Ran the test on both the rams completed a pass and guess what NO errors found

that means my rams are ok ritE?

Try the RAMs again, but before that clean the DIMM sockets by blowing air into the.
