Well my SLI-D is giving a wierd problem... Was rebooting like crazy since yesterday so I reinstalled the OS. Found out that even that is not the cause of error. I tried torture testing with Prime 95 today. With one stick of RAM (in orange slot far away from cpu), the machine is perfectly stable. I tested with both the sticks and the machine was perfectly stable in 3 hours of prime each with each of them. However the moment I put in both the sticks in dual channels, the machine can't even pass prime for 1 second. Both sticks are micron 5bd but from different manufacturers... one is crucial other is transcend. Also I'm on bios 623-3

Update: Disabling bank interleaving atleast doesn't make prime crash in 1 second. Its priming right now... so lets see.

All timings were manually set. Disabling the bank interleaving thingie fixed all issues. System perfectly stable now.

Chaos, just curious - do you have 2-way or 4-way option and was it on 2-way before ?

Also - the fastest way to check for memory errors would be to memtest it - why prime it for hours when results of memory stablity can be obtained within secs/mins by mem-testing, any particular reason ?

^^Strangely enuf, memtest didn't show any errors cos the RAM itself was fine. Prime on the other hand bailed out in less than a second. I'm not sure if it was 2-way or 4-way.

No errors in memtest is strange seeing your problem got solved by disabling bank interleaving.

Anyways, if you want to try then bank interleaving should be 4-way for rams above 64 MB, iirc.

I dont have option of bank interleaving on my mobo - can anyone else confirm their bank interleaving status(in dual channel mode) ?
