I am feeling slow with my Compaq CQ40, DC-2Ghz, 2gb, 160Gb, Vista Home Basic.
1. Will i get buy back offer for Processor DC to C2D ?
No ... Absolutely No such offers exist
2. Will there be any increase in performance
For day to day computing like web browsing, office applications and mild gaming ... no significant performance gains will be felt.....If you do stuff like video encoding and work on apps like Photoshop/CAD a slight performance gain but again not much to be perceived...
The configuration of ur laptop is good....If you want an increase in performance you can Upgrade RAM to 4 GB
The reason I feel your laptop is slow because it is clogged down by default applications which run on startup...Disable them...Defragment your hard drive
