nfs undercover requires 2.8ghz p4 proccy but considering dualcore to be way better than p4 will a 2.5ghz e5200 be able to run this?

It does more work per clockcycle unlike the crappy Pentium 4's...

A 1.8ghz E6300 (the older ones) will run circles around a Pentium 4 clocked at 3ghz...

^ As he said ghz alone doesn't matter anymore. All e series processors are new architectures compared to older pentium 4's . They do more work in less clock cycles.

I don't think a 1.8 Ghz Dual core is better than a 3 Ghz P4.......

I ran some hardcore numeric calulations on both and the p4 responded faster.....

Remember that dual cores are not that smart, Core 2 duos are smart....

ok one question i REALLY want stickied is wts the diff between a dual core and a core 2 duo.. :S i knw tht's a stupid ques bt there are people who dnt knw and i've gotten so sick of answering it tht i wont even bother now :@

In most situations, the 1.8 ghz dual core is faster than the p4. Read the link i posted earlier. The only place where the p4 might be close is in single threaded video encoding

The underlying architecture is the same, they're both based on the Core architecture. The names are different only for marketing purposes. The core 2 duo CPU's are clocked higher usually and have more cache and faster FSB's compared to the dual cores. Some of the dual core cpu's also dont have VT
