Need to get a dualshock or equivalent controller with a USB interface for my PC.
Or a PS2 dualshock- USB converter....
Any suggestions?

Guess I'll look around...but then aren't the analog controllers out of plane with each other on the xbox controller

I am not too sure if I want that having a preference for planar analog sticks

Not sure what you mean by 'out of plane'.

The X360 controller is good except that many people told me it has problems getting detected in certain games like Tomb Raider Legends.

If you chose the DualShock 2, it's ofcourse the most standard shape and is extremely durable aand gets detected in everythig I throw at it (even old DOS games like SW Rebel Assault).

You can order the PS2-USB converter from lik-sang.com.
Buy Super Joybox 5 Pro (4 Joypads simultaneously) (Personal Computer) - Always in stock!

^ This one is the best converter, also supports the pressure sensitive buttons on the DualShock 2.

Hell, i got caught up in stuff, and never got the time to get this done...

Thanks Saumil, but I guess the Lik-Sang buy is not worth the wait and the high shipping cost..especially since I need it just for one game- Indigo Prophecy

anyway, here is something I found on itdepot...Anyone used it before? Is it any good?

Logitech® Precision™ Controller (corded gamepad with vibration) - Welcome to Theitdepot Shopping

Quick help guys..Please..Playing Indigo prophecy with the keyboard is frustrating to say the least and the game is lying unused till I can get a decent controller

the worst thing about the x360 controller for windows is that it has pathetic driver support. no vibration. im using some guys beta drivers to use my controller and to configure the dead zone and sensitivity. the vibration can be enabled with those beta drivers too but they dont detect collisions etc, the pad vibrates everytime you move to the extreme right or left only. and by that i mean it vibrates even in the menus of games.

i like the pad because its good for racing and i dont need vibration anyway. overall its a very comfortable pad.

but whatever you do DO NOT buy the asus xitepad . stay away from it !

thats all i have to say.

xxthe endxx

Seems decent enough.

Though if you can pay 1k more, get the Rumblepad 2 from the same page, it's the best built-for-pc gamepad.
Games like Prince of Persia, Beyond Good & Evil and Psychonauts are pure bliss with a good gamepad.

Whatever you do, don't buy any of the Wingman pads from Logitech, the buttons don't last more than 6 months.

The rumble feedback works perfectly in all games on my Dualshock 2. I can't recommend this pad enough for any racing fan who can't afford a good wheel :hap2:
Unfortunately the usb converter isn't available easily, I got mine totally by chance through Stormblast.

well, guess i am being lazy and I should prolly pick up my lazy a$$ and head over to Ritchie street to pick up something decent...let me do that this weekend and try to get sumthing that lasts me more than one game

ok, stopped being lazy ... went to Ritchie street and picked up this...(wired)

First impression....nice ergonomics, good sensitivity and pretty strong rumble..looks pretty decent too :hap5:

GTR2 is the best test for feedback effects in wheels and pads.
I once tried the GTR1 demo on a Momo and you can actually feel the tyres losing grip in this game! Don't know how the hell they modelled it but it's right there in your face.

Try it out, see if the pad has 2 motors for reproducing left and right rumbles of varying intensities. As indispensible and second nature as sound effects if you can get good rumbles effects.
