Seriously, can't find them anywhere. I've been on the lookout since covid began, I'd say. Have scoured all major retailers and called shops across the country for some dang filters.

Anyone have any leads, or willing to part with a couple?
Thanks!

They're easily available on Aliexpress for very cheap, but can't get them directly shipped to India, If you can wait, then get them via US with help from rahul.

I've ordered a couple really cheap items from AE and never have received them. So I'm not too sure.

Who is Rahul? And yes, I can wait.

Rahul provides shipping service from USA to India at much better rates. And you can ship your Aliexpress orders to his address in USA and then he ships the items to you.

@agentmilo You might be better off using this once every 3/6 months:

I stopped depending on dust filters/mesh etc. This works quickly & hassle free. You can use it anywhere lol. Even the dust filters need cleaning once in a while.

I have this too. Problem is with dust which is stuck on the fan. That does not go away with this. With the dust filters you can clean them with water. With this I am still left with dust that is stuck. Haven’t found a safe way to wash fans till now.

Maybe you've been lucky till now, but this is a bad idea. These kinds of blowers have no protection from static electricity. You can short out your mobos in a whim. Can also damage your fan bearings if they spin way too fast and also generate reverse charge. You're also more prone to static discharge in colder weather, with these things.

There are compressed air blowers you can buy, but they are far more expensive.

I have been too lucky then .. been doing it for years... low speed and always from a distance of 1 foot or more. Mine is 7 speed. I usually use 3/4 on the PC.

Yup, you've been lucky! I used to use this years ago and ended up cleaning one mobo to death, heh.

I have been using such high speed blowers to clean my PC from years. Haven't caused any issue but what you say is true though.

Does it matter if the hose is made of plastic or rubber? I also have this blower and use it to clean fans and almost everything in the pc case, it has a rubber hose. Never had any issues. But yes, I try to keep the distance.

Will it affect even if used from a distance?
I thought there'll be issues only if it touches the components

When the air is very dry (say during winter), ESD can happen at certain small distances. But not at like 20-30cm and afar.
I seem to be more prone to ESD to be honest- like in the winters, touching people or objects give me a real jolt as much as every 5-10 minutes. I pretty much have to wear an ESD band when messing with my PC in winters.

It doesn't seem to be the case with most people though.

I don't know in scientific terms, but to me ESD happens a lot more on dry plastics than rubber.
