Facing a lot of issues with dust at my place, and no longer have the time to pop open the side panel and dust out the components :P

Whats the most dust resilient cabinet I can lay my hands on?

Priorities:

1. Less dust

2. Less dust (oh wait, I said that  )

3. 4~6 HDD bays with decent ventilation for the disks

4. Cheap

5. Decent natural ventilation/radiation to keep fans to a minimum; since more fans = more dust

6. Roomy enough (no monster graphics card type space needed though)

Pour in your suggestions.

Thanks :hap2:

P.s.: Don't mind radical suggestions such as this : http://dirtbag.biz/covers/tower.html

If we can identify a similar material which is used in the link you have given, it can easily be stitched & used

Any idea what material we can use ?

Well did you say cheap, well cooler master 430 fits your bill with 5 to 7 HDD bays, comes with dust filters on top and bottom intakes, add an extra front 120mm filter.

CM690II and some lancool models all have dust filters, throughout the front bezel.

Budget however cheap it may be? :P

I'd say, get any decent enclosure such as the CM Elite 430 and keep the fans to minimum - say 2. An intake and an exhaust. The PSU has another one so that takes care of the heat inside it.

Hey, if TheITDepot still has the offer for Antec NSK4400 at 1500 shipped, get that. It is a very good enclosure IMO - comes bundled with a 120mm tri-cool fan with a speed selector switch. You can add an 80mm fan in the front else it has vent holes in the front and in the side panel. Although the hard drive bays are limited to 4 IIRC (can be increased by one more by using one of the 5.25" bays) and there is no fan in the front to cool the drives. Sell those older low capacity drives and get ones with larger capacities. :P

Yep that does look nice.

However on closer examination I noticed the bottom intake dust filter is for the PSU area alone. The rest of the portion is not filtered. Same case at the front. I'm not sure if a third-party filter is a direct drop in.. any clues?

well the mount positions for after market filters should mostly be the same. The cooler master USA site shows dust filter for top as well.

I'd recommend the Lancool Dragon Lord K62. It's got a bunch of filters and stays pretty dust free. Though you'll need to wipe the front mesh portion from time to time.

Get the HAF 932 or a similar cabinet with lots of fan holes.

Load up all intakes with medium-speed fans.

Stitch together a cover made of speaker grill cloth. Easily available at your local hardware/electronics hobby market. Say goodbye to dust, as long as you keep the cover clean or have a backup you'll be fine.

Pop a bit of this near all intakes not covered by your bag.

Remember pressure differences - more CFM in than out will mean a cleaner case and components. even if you have uncovered fan holes with or without filters, as long as the inflow is greater than the outflow air will blow *out* of the empty holes and not in.

@cranky : I went to shops near Thane station but didn't found speaker grill cloth :( ... they say to check on lamington road :@ ... anybody is selling it online??

Anybody who lives near lamington road ... can u plz check availablity?

It is available on Lamington Road. You have to visit the shops that make speaker cabinets, they can sell you some or tell you where to find it.

Best way is to do a DIY at the same cost.People always assemble the PC and spend thousands of rupees in buying a Cabinet,I don't know why they can't think of making it themselves. It's cheaper and much much better.

Go burn that sniper cabinet. They all suck. Each time a new heat card evolves (which u call graphics Card) and u throw that old costly cabinet out.
