I am facing problems with my DVD Drive these days. Whenever i am trying to Burn a DVD, its corrupting the DVD and the Writing gets terminated within 10% with an error. I tried Pleomax as well as Amkette DVDs and the same problem is persisiting. So , Is it my Drive's Hardware Fault???
Second thing, i went to my Local market and asked for a new burner and they are selling Sony's Writer for 1k (Dont know its writing speeds, shud be 22x minimum) with 1 year warranty.
Should i get it? Are these sony Drives good?? If not, suggest any alternative company.I can spend 1.2k max. more also if its worth spending. I just need to write single layer as well as dual layer DVDs.
 
First lower your burning speed and try cleaning the DVD drive lens, dust accumulation on the lens can give burning issue

Second, try to get new drives from LG, they are most reliable and so are preferred most :)
 
You should be getting drives priced less than 900 bucks.
Pick any company which fits your budget.
There is no reliability left On the longetivity of the drive.
Be it any company.
 
Try disabling your antivirus while burning.And what exactly are you burning,movies,data or music?

If you wanna buy new drive,then don't buy cheap ones.Buy one with atleast 2 years warranty.And always be careful while you are inserting a disc,always clean it with soft cloth and insert it.Let no dust enter in.And use cleaner to clean it whenever required.
 
i am writing data, the rar files of games......my drive is also faulty from past few years...it becomes very difficult sometimes to read data from DVD created on my Drive in run in other PC's sometimes....
