Looking to get DVD Player which plays most video format (mkv if possible) from USB stick.

Getting this evening

i have got one from Zline (may be chinese product :P), but it plays 5 out of 7 different format. Also supports subtitle. I will suggest you to take all the available formats in a usb drive and ask the retailer to try the usb drive, then you will know how many formats are supported, i tried that

^^ Hmm, quite nice suggestion I must say. do it and you will not regret.

Though there is high chance that instead of a branded one, some cheap make will provide you more feature, in that case, check warranty other features and take a decision.

y dont u go for media player if u want to use it thru usb stick....it will play all the possible formats and HD will also b available.

+1 to that.

Take media player & MOD it to support external DVD drive.

If you have WDTV then you can mod with BRAD firmware to support external DVD drive.

There is Popcorn player which by default support ext DVD

Go for Samsung or Lg's dvd player... it support mkv , vob , avi , divx , xvid mp4 and many more.. ;)I would recommend samsung

are you sure sagar, coz my neighbor has one, LG home theater thing, sadly it can't play mkv format ... real sad !!

If there is a DVD Player that support NTFS formatted hard drive through USB port, that will be the best.

We normally forget about this aspect and most of the MKVs (blu ray rips) are more than 4GB which is not supported by FAT32 system.

Is there any Player that can do so?

Give the model number which plays mkv ?

1st thing DVD players cant play these HD files & wont support big HDD, so media player is the only go.
