I need a DVD Ripper-cum-converter, possible if, freeware, to rip DVDs and simultaneously encode 'em into .avi and .mp4 files. :ashamed:
 
Instead of 1 try two software, it will be easy and quality will be excellent:
DVDFab HD Decrypter+StaxRip 1.3 beta
or
DVDFab HD Decrypter+AutoGK 2.55

The first ripper is continuously updated and excellent for new comers. BTW, both are free :)
 
What I need is a software that can rip multiple .vob files of DVD into one single avi file. I've tried DVD Decrypter, DVDFab, Handbrake and AutoGK. Only AutoGK seems to work to some extent, that is, it does combine xx01_1.vob, xx01_2.vob into one single file but I need such thing that can combine all the .vob files into one single avi file.

What u need is a software called DGIndex. This will index all your vob files to a single d2v file. This d2v file is accepted by MeGUI, which will help you convert to avi.

Its slightly complicated, depending on your source video.
 
Do note that the DVD Ripping process to a 1CD or a 2CD takes hell lot of time and only if you have a better configuration cpu and all it will be little less. At least for me it was not worth the effort. Instead just get a blank DVD and make a copy.
 
Use the good old DVD Decrypter with GordianKnot(not the AutoGK) try in the doom9 forum for latest update on these tools.

You may have to use AnyDVD in some cases in conjunction with the old DVD Decrypter

Have used all of the above. If u want mp4 compatible with ipod/PS3 etc, use MeGUI, AutoMKV, RipBot264[best quality IMO, but slow]
If u want avi compatible with standalone players, use Staxrip, MeGui, AutoGK[fastest but a little lower quality], AutoMKV.
 
You can use aimersoft DVD package which contains DVD Ripper, video converter, audio converter and it also merges all the .vob files to .avi format. I have been using it for long time and its really good. But one disadvantage is that its not FREE.
 
Well I tried DGIndex and MeGUI and it all was very complex for me so I went back to my old repository and dig up my old version MediaEncoder. It allows me rip and join and convert files simultaneously. I'm using the older version coz the newer version don't have the option of joining anymore. :cool2:
