Laptops DVD RW for Laptops..

Hey guys,

I have a HP dv6767tx and its DVD RW has been giving problems since atlmost an year. Intially it used to read the discs partially but now its nothing. Not a single DVD/CD is read.

So can you guys please suggest any options ?

Repair ?
New one ?

If I opt for the new one, which brand should I opt for and what would be the price for the same.

I was quoted 3.5k for a new one (SATA). I'm looking for one too!

Ya even i got quoted the same... Was kinda surprised.. Isn't that too costly ?
