DVD to iPod Converter - Freeware/Opensource only please

I am looking for a freeware/open source converter for converting DVD to iPod 6 G Classic.
I do not want anything that needs .Net, Java based will do.

Additionally I wanted to buy headphones for iPod. I have zeroed in on these two:

Creative EP570

Creative EP550

Which of these is:
Better in terms of sound quality
More comfortable

Plus what are the prices of each?

hmm did you try mencoder/ffmpeg/virtualdubmod/avisynth? Please google for them. I would also recommend doom9 and videohelp.

NO error message in SUPER, it just says conversion finished but terminates the process midway.
