Hello,
I have converted by brothers marriage DVDs (Around 5 DVDs) to .iso format and made a soft copy of same
(in case DVD gets corrupted).
We plan to watch this .ISO files using VLC on TV (via samba protocol), but .iso files cannot be played directly from PC on TV..
We dont have a DVD reader..

How can i convert this .ISO FILES to high quality videos (including audio) ?

It will be great family fun and also preserve this videos for lifetime memory.

actually you can play the dvd after mounting using vlc and then “save as” mkv and vlc should transcode it to mkv. it is probably the easiest way. everyone uses ffmpeg internally. you could try your hand at it if you want to control every setting for video and audio.
there used to be a avisynth script based video server back then for doing stuff like noise reduction and stuff but these days davinci resolve is way more powerful tool.
 
To be able to play the video, you either have to:
1. Mount the .iso file, copy the relevant files (.VOB, typically) to your network share, and see if it plays on your TV. VOB is just a container with MPEG video (generally) + audio in some format, and if the .vob extension doesn't work, you may try renaming it to .mpeg (or .mpg) to see if it plays.
2. Or, rip/encode it to a format that plays on your TV (as already suggested).

To archive the video:
If this is worthy enough to preserve in it's original form, I would suggest that you save the .iso file or mount the .iso file and save the entire directory tree. While it is possible to rip DVDs with virtually no quality loss (with two-pass encoding, or with insanely high quality settings, etc.), you may end up missing something. This is especially true if this is a custom-made DVD with extras (menus, chapters, etc.).
 
VLC Player can play the ISO file directly, provided the DVD structure is intact within the ISO image file.

Converted all the DVDs using Format Factory, worked like a charm.
And plays on TV without any issues.
