DvD writers for recording TV shows

Hi,
which commrcial DVD players also write DVD's so you can record missed TV programmes.

I am a little out of touch since i last used my VCR 3 years ago...so please do guide me.

I was looking for the same thing.You will have to buy a dvd recorder for that and the last time i checked the price was above 15k.The price must have dropped by now but the thing is you have to manually enter the channel no. and time of recording for the dvd recorder to record your programmes.DVRs (digital video recorders) are much better since you can record at the press of a button but i don't thing they are available in india yet.----unless you go for DTH.
 
A better option would be to do the same on PC, do whatever format conversion u want and finally burn on a dvd :). This option would be cheaper as well.
