hi freinds i have a doubt.while creating a dvd video(can be played in dvd players) a process called transcoding occurs before burning.it sucks about 4 hrs for completion.plz help me.i am using nero 7 essentiale.thanks in advance
Well transcoding means converting the video file from one format to another, like from avi to dat.
DAT is the format (MPEG) that plays on the VCD Player, AVI can't play on the VCD player, becuase that format is not supported on the VCD player.
This is why Nero converts (transcodes) the file from avi to dat before writing it onto a CD, this ofcourse takes lots and lots of time and is a very very CPU intensive task.
