I hope its not spam from my side
@varkey --- I hope you tried with a normal 2G sim from any other operator other than BSNL. Also just to confirm again the replacement modem you got was a sealed piece one and did it not have IMEI right from the start with the stock firmware it came with ?
As I said in the previous post, I did
not try it with a 2G sim (Its supposed to work with 3G sims as well right?

) As I have mentioned earlier too, I have a UMG181 modem as well, and the same BSNL sim works perfectly and without any issues in that at the exact same location. So I doubt it being a network related issue, if it was, my UMG181 also would have showed similar or atleast some issue.
Yes the replacement also was sealed although it was sent from Bangalore by a buyer who had bought one extra, which was informed to me by dvdstoredelhi earlier. The sticker on the back of the modem had the IMEI number printed but on checking it with Mobile Partner, MDMA the IMEI field was blank. Also I just started the firmware updater and there too the IMEI number was missing and yes it had the
stock firmware and I
did not upgrade it as the IMEI was missing.

@Varkey > I am ready to initiate your Refund in FULL via Ebay after you Refund Rs 2720/- paid to you.
However regarding Shipping amount of Rs 60 + Rs 60 paid by you is borne by buyer since you bought via Ebay and we specified same in our listing !
This is how it works out for this product. We provide Replacement Warranty for 6 months and during this tenure if buyer faces and problem he returns same to us
for replacement and we bear return shipping charges. We also bear Shipping expense when we received a faulty piece and we forward same to Vendor and then he pays for returning replacement to us.
So 1 way is borne by buyer and the other by Seller and I feel it is fair and win win situation for both.
I understand how your normal warranty works and I agree to it, but in this case, I received a defective product (DOA) initially, returned it and the replacement also turned out to be defective without even IMEI number. If I had received a working product I wouldn't have bothered about the return shipping charges. But the end of the day I neither have the product and I am at a loss for absolutely no fault of mine. I feel it is the duty of the seller to make sure the item is not DOA.
I have made serveral purchases online infact 90% of my purchases are done online and almost all cases of DOA or Wrong Item I have been refunded the entire amount I paid plus the return shipping costs, some sellers even arranged free pickup from my house. So my assumption is that, it is the usual practice for cases like this.
Anyway I am ready to transfer back the amount, I just need the account details, will you please PM me that?
@Others - Do you think I should bear the return shipping costs in this case?
