DX9 Error with NFS Shift - Win 7 Ultimate x64

Ever since the upgrade NFS Shift isn't working.

I have bought a new HDD and did a clean format and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64.

It shows a dx9 error and doesn't start.

if there is a directx or a redist folder in the game dvd, run the setup from that. the game needs a very specific file, so it will have been added to the dvd. could also possibly be in the extras section of the dvd.

Google for the particular .dll that is missing and copy that into the specified directory. Usually fixes the problem.
