Though yes, what all you guys have mentioned is right - he cannot connect a SATA Hard disk *directly* to the eSATA port.

The eSATA Bracket connects the Motherboard SATA port <--> eSATA port on bracket
From that eSATA port you will again need a converter back to SATA (this is usually present in eSATA casings) to connect your SATA hard disk.
