BTW correct me if i'm wrong, but all he wants is just an eSATA port.. so in that case shouldn't the eSATA bracket be enough?

Though yes, what all you guys have mentioned is right - he cannot connect a SATA Hard disk *directly* to the eSATA port.

Edit:
@iosoft - Just to clarify :

The eSATA Bracket connects the Motherboard SATA port <--> eSATA port on bracket
From that eSATA port you will again need a converter back to SATA (this is usually present in eSATA casings) to connect your SATA hard disk.

Hope that clarifies things ;)

Thank you for the clarification.
I think people miss understood me. Thanks Crazy_Eddy

YES, I just want a eSATA port for my system, nothing else.

Hi, I already have a e-SATA port of my Asus P5B, and an external sata notebook drive in a zippy usb case, connecting the external sata drive directly to the ASUS e-SATA port will require a special e-SATA to sata cable which I have been unable to locate in the market. I presume you want to do the same thing after connecting the e-SATA bracket. I suggest you first locate the cable before you get the bracket, and if you do locate it please let me know. Currently the Vantec though pricey seems to be the best way to go.
