How to dispose off PCs in a safe manner ?

Friend asked how to do this with an old non-working laptop ?

I felt tempted to tell him to just put it in the trash or a scrapyard, but you never know what dump it might end up in and 'pollute the environment'.

So how do you do this ?

Hey guys

I have a whole dump of electronic waste lying with me, which I don't want to throw into the regular trash due to environmental concerns.

Can anyone suggest a decent e-waste disposal agent / site in Delhi - NCR region? I remember reading a couple of years back about this agency which arranges pickup of such stuff at your doorstep, and also pays you for it... Can't remember the name now.

Anyone has any suggestions regarding this?
