Thats quite simple, buy a calibrator for Rs. 5000 and you will be on your way to great picture on ur LCD...:bleh: :bleh: :ohyeah: :ohyeah:

Don't compare it with another monitor. Hold a plain paper next to the monitor, and try to achieve proper white :D

i know lcd comparisons r not good...only if i had a crt it wud have served a good purpose for comparison...but lets see..i wont b arnd for next 3 days...will try stuff after i come back...

Your 1930 has every pic with a cyan cast and washed out look...You are used to that look looks like...

E228WFP isnt that bad and can look good with some calibrating....try some software calibration...

the image on the dell looks a lot nicer than the viewsonic. try playing with gamma settings and see if it helps

as i said the pics arnt clearly showing the diff...the pics do look good when viewed singly...but the windows/ie explorer toolbars are too yellowish to go unnoticed (not in the pics tho)...suggest some softwares for calibration...wud like to even calibrate the viewsonic to a better colour reproduction...

Maybe- less brightness, more gamma and a very lil amount of extra blue will help.:ashamed:
Made my budget LCD a lil more tolerable.:P

And stop comparing coz it will only make you unhappy- i am pretty ok with mine as i don't compare anymore and am used to it now.
But if you think its some issue with the piece you got- try and check out a similar one.

I still like your E228WFP...

I got nice results with my calibrator all around...except with my Laptop screen which again gave good picture results but gave that yellowish look to windows explorer bars afterr calibration...

Hmm can anyone else with E228WFP comment on this...

The default settings on the e228wfp does make the display very yellowish.

According to a friend who owns a Spyder Express these are the calibrated settings for 9300K color temp and i'm currently using these.

Brightness - 60
Contrast - 85
Red - 91
Green - 92
Blue - 93

It may be a good headstart for him...but it can even worsen the look on some panels...Calibration value is no magic number nd depends on various factors...

I just hope it suits jedi's panel though...

Won't 60% brightness burn your eyes. :S I keep my Dell 2007WFP at 10% brightness and its more than enough for me.

thanks all...will try those and get back to u guys on tuesday...am going out of station for next 3 days :(

Just saw the pics JK posted.:ashamed:

The DEll appears so much more natural to me.:ashamed:

And maybe all LCDs have lil yellowish/off-white shade when checked at an angle- the budget ones i had did.:(

The one on the left- VS- is so blue.:(

So maybe less brightness, more gamma and a lil more blue on the dell- as i mentioned before will make it more like the VS and a lil more better to you.:P

Even my 2407 has the explorer bars with an yellow tinge...

btw as I said his Dell E228WFP has much better pics....the other monitor actually looks pretty bad...

Just saw the pics. The dell is a bit yellow, and the viewsonic is too blue! :O I'm telling you, just hold a sheet of paper next to them and adjust for proper white.
