Which would be a better choice of CPU the E6750 or the Q6600, considering that we do not want to OC for the present but may do so later?
Also next upgrade would be at least 2 years off.

i feel that Q6600 would be the best option to buy for now as its not too much expensive and dosen't need to upgrade for the next 2 years as of now.

Is there any chance the Penryn's that will arrive by Jan end, would be in the same price range as the Q6600?

get q6600 .... its penryn replacement will be q9450 .. 2.66ghz 1333fsb . . but 8 multiplier .. u need 500fsb to get 4ghz oc from it .. ofcourse it all matters if ur into overclocking ..

i wanted to know will i lose any performance (at stock) if i combine a q6600 with my current mbd - p5b vanilla or will i need to invest in p35 also?....i think this one has 1066mhz fsb stock

^^ quad core has 1066 mhs and 8 mb and go slacr step it support this mo 1066 does not matter check for manual or try you update latest version of bios ;)

Thanks :)
I guess the Quad is a better future proofing choice then.
Are there any heat issues or any other issues faced by anyone with this CPU?

It does heat up a bit more than the Duos, but tht is obvious, given its a quad..but nothing tht is not manageable..

Spend just a little bit more and get the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme for 2.7k...tht'll take care of all the heating issues of the Q6600 forever...:P

Thanks.
So which would be the perfect motherboard for this CPU? Given a budget of around 5-6K for the Motherboard?

if ur not going to OC get the Biostar TP35D2-A7 its a good mobo i have one

also u don't need after market coolers, the stock cooler is more than enuf if not ocing. i'm running a quad 24/7 for my render stuffs and WCG max temp it reaches is 58degree and the idle temps are 34/36.

I don't plan on OC'ing any time for now anyway but may want to in the future (that too only slightly).
What about the Intel Mobo if I am not planning on OC'ing? are they any good?
