CPU/Mobo E8400 - Price increase by 800

I went to Delta, Chennai yesterday to enquire prices
When i asked Kamal(owner) on the price, he said they have paused sales of E8400 as there is going to price increase of 800rs shortly

He also had couple of them stocked, but not selling it.
Dont know how far its true... just wanted to pass on this info

^^ It is true... Intel has increased the rates of all its processors... i bought my processor (E4500) on tuesday @ 4850 ... rate increased by 150.

I guess u never read it properly..prices of old quad core reducing q6750 etc not 45nm one...also e8300 new proccy releasing ..

Also less than 100 dollars proccy price reducing....

Also a lot of topic was posted e8400 almost disappearing in most places of Europe...and intel facing problem in production it was always on card

AFAIK ... they are suppose to realease in 2nd quarter 2008 !

dealers are to blame...actually wen i went in to pick in my dvd rw, i saw him stack up on E2XXX series...asked him ..was in a lite mood..explained hws he`s gonna"control" prices now... and make a kiling...and as we were speaking sold a e2140 for 2.6k...good lord

Q9300 is available in chennai for 12.8k incl. all. Makes a better buy over the Q6600.

Edit: The multi is only 7.5, so isn't Q6600 better for Ocing?

i guess the advantage of the Q9300 over the Q6600 in terms of performance, is not worth the price difference (after Q6600 price cut)
but if lower temps & lower power consumption reqd.. one may buy Q9300

Q9300 has less cache, lower multi and higher cost than the Q6600. Why buy it . Won't overclock much either as it'll reach board FSB limits quicker.
