Electronic Arts has announced the fifth edition of its popular racing and destruction game Burnout. Burnout 5 will be made for the Xbox 360 and the upcoming PlayStation 3 consoles. EA promises less menu jumping and more destruction, even boasting that gamers can literally, "rip their cars in half".
Burnout 5 is set in fictional Paradise City where being a bad driver is a good thing. EA says, "Every intersection is a potential crash junction and every alleyway is an opportunity to rack up moving violations." EA adds that game play will be enhanced by having less menus to, "jump in and out of".
The game is being developed by Guildford, UK-based Criterion Games which is the same company that made the previous Burnout games. Electronic Arts hopes the game will ship sometime in 2007
